Mechanical Seal 155 Single Spring CER/CAR/EPDM, 14mm

Mechanical Seal 155 Single Spring CER/CAR/EPDM, 14mm

Component Breakdown & Properties:

• CER (Ceramic / Alumina):
  • • Typically high-purity aluminium oxide (99.5% or 99%).
    • Properties: Extremely hard, high wear resistance, and great chemical resistance against most acids, water, and mild chemicals. Used as a seal face paired with carbon.
  • CAR (Carbon / Resin- or Antimony-impregnated Carbon):
    • • Properties: Self-lubricating, low friction, and high thermal shock resistance. Acts as the mating face, wearing-in smoothly against the ceramic ring to create a tight, low-friction seal face.
    • EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer):
      • Properties: Elastomer with excellent resistance to hot water, steam, ozone, weathering, aging, and many polar solvents (alcohols, ketones, dilute acids, and alkalis).
      • Limitations: Poor resistance to petroleum oils, mineral oils, and hydrocarbon solvents.
      • Temperature Range: Typically -30°C to +150°C (depending on the specific compound grade).
