These Irwin Blue Groove bits shouldn’t be confused with ordinary auger bits.
An auger has only one cutting edge and flute – these have three of each. This gives you three times the cutting speed and the flutes will clear the waste three times faster too.
The centre screw pulls the bit into the workpiece, while the three cutting edges keep it in track and cut an exceptionally clean hole.
